Much-anticipated Zoolander 2 announces Stiller’s co-star

It has been 14 years since the hilarious Ben Stiller driven Zoolander rocked the box office, telling the adventures of incredibly dumb and shallow supermodels. The comedy is set to be released Feb. 12, 2016, and it seems Stiller has snagged an A-list co-star to make the cast even more insanely attractive.

According to Eonline, Stiller made the announcement through Instagram, writing that a Spanish beauty has been tapped for the spot.

“Excited to announce Penélope “Little Penny” Cruz has joined #Zoolander2 cast! #fbf,” read the Instagram. Stiller also reminded us all that Cruz has an Oscar under her belt by posting a cute picture of her in her younger years.

Cruz was the first actress born in Spain to win an Oscar. She received the award for her role in Woody Allen’s ““Vicky Cristina Barcelona.

Zoolander 2 will tell the story of Stiller’s character, Derek Zoolander, whose sex appeal as a super-model has dried up. The script was written by Justin Theroux (Jennifer Aniston’s husband), and, more good news; Will Ferrel,  as the crazy Mugatu, and Owen Wilson, as Hansel, will be reprising their roles as over the top fashion industry professionals.

Eonline reports that Stiller summarizes the films plot;

“In the fashion world, if you go away for a year, it’s changed—it just happens so quickly,” Stiller told MTV about this installment. “I think the idea in the beginning of the movie is that its 10 years later, and Derek and Hansel are literally forgotten. Nobody remembers who they are, so they have to reinvent themselves.”
