Others may have learned to overeat to comfort themselves when they were younger and in a lonely or traumatic experience. It is crucially important to realize that the person who has been living a sedentary lifestyle is not in physical shape to immediately handle a strenuous workout.
The Role of Exercise
The exercise changes that need to be made should focus more on routine then performance. To begin these lifestyle changes, commitment and practice should be the goal while the actual exercise should be a series of gentle movements such as a daily walk, swimming, or incorporating yoga to the lifestyle. Once the habit forms of daily exercising, then the focus may shift to adding strength training, or more cardiovascular workouts. Begin by simply moving every day for at least 20 minutes and then take it from there.
